Christmas 2009

We had such a busy Christmas, not to mention we spent Christmas morning in a hotel this year. We had a lot of fun and we were so greatful to see all of our family. I think next year, just the four of us will have Christmas together at our house. I never realized how much we do at Christmas, until this year. Once you add a six hour drive and trying to be somewhat organized in a hotel for 4 nights, things seem a little crazy. We were so exhausted after the trip, we are having a hard time catching up! I really can't complain though, Grayson and Gavyn had such a wonderful Christmas! First things first, we squeezed in time Christmas Eve to see the Alvin and the Chipmunks... (Grayson has been waiting a long time to see it!) Second, we went to Pat's on Christmas Eve... Next, we had our Christmas with Santa at the hotel Christmas morning... Then, we went to Grandma Pat and Papa Cleber's... and finally, we had Christmas at Gaylon's the day after Christmas! Whew, that's a lot of Christmas!

Ruidoso 2009

We had a blast in Ruidoso the weekend before Christmas! It was my Dad's 60th Birthday, so we went along for the party. I can't believe he's sixty! Hope you had a great 60th Dad! WE LOVE YOU!!! It was so good to see all of our family there. We don't see y'all often enough, so I'm glad we got to catch up. We took Grayson tubing and he had so much fun. He is so wild and fearless! He went down the baby slope a couple of times and then wanted to go down the big slope with Marc. He loved tubing, playing in the snow and riding the rides. Unfortunately, my camera broke after we were playing in the snow. I wish I had more pictures to share.

Grayson and his new "CHEESY" smile!
Our Gingerbread house, courtesy of SAM's (it was so easy and a lot of fun!) Grayson quit on me halfway through though, so I'm only showing the decorated side.

Since our last post...

Grayson had his Thanksgiving party at school, which was his last day at Wylie Methodist. We were so sad to leave all of the wonderful women at the mother's day out program. Grayson's teachers took such great care of him. We will miss all of you!!! Marc shot a buck and we celebrated Thanksgiving. Not to mention, we finished all of our packing and moved to our new home. We have been extremely busy getting settled in, but we have made major progress. We will miss all of our family and friends. As this chapter of our lives ends, another chapter begins. I am excited to see what God has in store for us. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!!

Musical Beds

Have you ever heard of musical beds? I'm sure most moms with kids have played it once or twice before. Anyways, this is how we play: Grayson and Gavyn start out in our bed. Once Grayson is in a deep sleep, we move him to his bed. Gavyn then goes to sleep and he either goes in the playard or his swing. Usually Gavyn wakes up first, and I'm so tired I put him in bed with us. If I'm really lucky Grayson wakes up at the exact same time as Gavyn and he walks into our bedroom. Grayson then gets into our bed and falls asleep, so we are right back where we started. I can't go back to sleep because the order in bed is Marc, Me, Gavyn then Grayson and I'm worried Grayson might fall of the bed. So I wait for Grayson to fall back into a deep sleep and then I take Gavyn with me to Grayson's bed to sleep. Whew... it's no wonder I never feel rested! Oh well, these two little boys are totally worth it!!!

COOL CUTS

Thank you Cool Cuts for being so cool. Grayson normally doesn't like to get his haircut, however today was a good day for a haircut. He played a video game, watched Diego and sat in a Firetruck all while getting a haircut. Plus, the lady who cut his hair was awesome with him and he loved her. It definitely was the most expensive haircut after the hair gel and toy was added to the total. Oh well, it was totally worth it!!! Grayson's hair was looking pretty bad.

Yesterday,

our day consisted of:
robot pancakes,
Gavyn riding "Big Boy" style in the shopping cart for the 1st time,
and I was greeted with this Turkey when I arrived to pick up Grayson from school.

Robots

Grayson loves robots, so we went a little crazy drawing them with chalk this afternoon. He insisted after I drew the first one, that I draw a mommy, daddy and baby robot as well. So I guess it was our family robot style. We are thankful for all of the beautiful weather we have had. Oh, and Happy Veterans Day to all those who have served and are serving in the military and especially to those who have lost their lives fighting for our freedom!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you...

Ohdeedoh

I never imagined Gavyn's room would be selected for "The Small Kids, Big Color" contest, but it was. I took the pictures last minute and just entered for fun. I wanted to take some pictures of his room before we moved and I ran across this competition to win a shopping spree to Dwell Studios. The only thing I need now is votes. So please click below on Gavyn's room and click on thumbs up to vote. You have to register for an account, but it's simple. You can only vote for 48 hours so please, please, please hurry!
please... with cherries on top and all!!!

My Robot Hat

I told Grayson to get his robot hat the other day to match his shirt. He came back with his Longhorn hat that he normally won't put near his head. Apparently, a longhorn resembles a robot in Grayson's eyes.

Opening Weekend 2009 (from Grayson's view)

I drove my daddy's truck,
went to the river and threw a lot of rocks into it,
went to see the big stinky hogs,
hitched a ride on my daddy's shoulders,
saw a skull of some sort and daddy asked me to hold it, I said "no way" and jumped on it with my boots and crushed it instead, my mommy got bored waiting on the hunters so she took a picture of herself, spent time with my Papa Cleber, hugged my baby brother, thought my brother looked so cute he needed his picture taken,
looked at a turtle on the road,
the turtle was a little crazy and kind of scared me,
went to see Papa and Grandma's remodeled ranch house
whew... I did a lot this weekend. I'm a little tired but I had a blast!!!!
